I’ve been writing song lyrics for a long time, mostly because sometimes a song is the easiest way to say something that is difficult to say otherwise.
The songs on this site aren’t written around one particular genre or subject. Some come from personal experiences, some from thoughts that have been rattling around in my head, and others simply begin with a line or an idea that I want to follow and see where it goes.
I don’t pretend that every song has some profound meaning behind it. Sometimes I just enjoy writing. Other times, though, a song becomes a place to put something that matters to me—memories, loss, humor, frustration, faith, loneliness, hope, or simply an observation about life.
I’ve decided to collect some of those lyrics here rather than leave them sitting in notebooks and files where nobody will ever see them.
Some of the songs also have recordings, and when they do, I’ll include a link so you can hear what the words became when they were finally put to music.
This site is simply a place for me to share what I write.
If something here happens to mean something to somebody else, all the better.
